We provide an independent service for the purpose of obtaining any available public record or document held by HM Government. Any facilities we use for the purpose of obtaining a public record/document are made available to the general public.
Our fees consist of our research, the procurement and delivery of the record or document. The cost of our service is as stated on our website in pounds sterling and this is the amount that will be charged by us using any of our approved methods of payment. All online payments are processed via Opayo, formerly SagePay and will show on your card statement as being made to ‘UK Documents’.
All orders that require additional research are subject to an administration fee. We reserve the right to retain 10.00 GBP for this purpose. The remaining balance will be refunded.
The estimated despatch time for any given service offered on our website is based on Monday - Friday being a working day and excludes weekends and bank holidays. The estimated despatch time should be used for guidance purposes only and is not guaranteed, nor does it form any type of contract between us and the customer. Fulfilment of your order is deemed to haven taken place on the day your order is despatched, not the day your order is delivered. If for any reason we are unable, or have not despatched your order within our estimated timescale a full and immediate refund is available upon request.
Our service guarantee: We do our utmost to have documents issued as quickly as possible. If by whatever means you are able to secure your document faster than our advertised timescale and prior to our day of despatch, a full and immediate refund is available upon request. This applies to all orders except those that require an apostille/legalisation certificate. In this case, we retain any fee we have already paid to the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and refund the balance.
We are unable to offer a personal collection service. Our delivery options are shown at the time of ordering. Only when a delivery option which is tracked or requires the recipients signature, will a full refund or replacement document be provided. If standard UK 1st Class or standard International Airmail delivery is chosen, any delay or loss is the responsibility of the customer. In all cases a proof of posting certificate shall be obtained and held by us for a minimum period of three calendar months.
Under no circumstances shall we be held liable for any loss, be it financial or otherwise if for any reason a document cannot be supplied or is delayed. Nor shall we be held liable for any loss, be it financial or otherwise for any omissions or errors which may occur in documents supplied or records searched.
Contract of Order.
The contract between ‘UK Documents’ and the customer is deemed to have commenced at the point where a successful payment transaction has been made. At that point regulation 13 of the consumer protection (distance selling) regulations 2000 shall apply and 'UK Documents’ do not offer the right to cancel.
